ELC / IE LIBRARIES 09/21/20 – 09/25/20

DUTIES:  Parent Pickup Monday-Friday 3:20

                 5th Grade Lunch Duty Wednesday, Thursday 12:25-1:00

MONDAY & TUESDAY:

8:40-11:55  ELC Library – Priority: Continue to facilitate Library book checkout for virtual students, continue working on book fair planning, determine if ELC visitation will be possible, coordinate as needed, communicate arrival and availability of Redbud Nominee books to teachers/students.  Continue working on general book order.

Normal library duties including but not limited to: teaching students to use the library by finding books that are appropriate and of interest using the Dewey system and established local cataloging system, check books in and out, re-shelve books, make sure all teachers are receiving requested materials from Library, ordering books requested and appropriate for students and staff, downloading MARC records, processing new books, repairing and weeding current books and other materials on inventory as needed, searching for lost/can’t find materials, checking inventory and ordering other necessary library materials as needed, consulting with administration and staff for school and classroom needs that can be provided by the library.

FRIDAY:

9:35-10:45 IE – 4th Grade Block Class – Students will be given a quick review of how to use the library digital catalog.  Handout Library Scavenger Hunt Info Sheet and discuss.  This sheet will give students various tasks to search for specific books using the library digital catalog.  Read aloud to students and discuss book as time allows  (RWSR).  Students helped with reshelving books, cleaning, and organizing Library during class time last Friday, 9/18/20.

10:45-11:55  ELC Library – Continue with normal library duties. 5th Grade Lunch duty 12:25-1:00
